World Glaucoma Awareness Week will be celebrated from 6 to 12 March, 2020. The main objective of this week is to eliminate glaucoma blindness by motivating people to have regular eye checkup, including optic nerve examination.
Glaucoma is a disease of the eye in which the nerves in the eye responsible for the vision are damaged causing gradual loss of vision. The vision loss can occur without any prior signs and symptoms. Glaucoma is the third leading of cause of blindness affecting around 12 Million people in the country.
